Scholarships
Potosi Pines has a few opportunities for campers to receive campership funds to attend summer camps: the DSC CRM Campership Fund, receiving scholarship funds from your local church, the Children’s Service Guild fund for foster children, The Las Vegas Sun camper funds for those experiencing financial hardship.
Please read below for information on how to request these funds via your summer camp registration application
DSC Camp & Retreat Ministries Campership Fund
It is the belief of Desert Southwest Camp & Retreat Ministries that every camper who wants to attend camp should be able to do so!
Supporters of DSC Camp & Retreat Ministries offer summer camp scholarships starting at $50 for half-week sessions and $100 for week-long sessions. Please fill out a Scholarship Request in your registration to apply!
Please note: a $50 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration to submit a completed application for your summer camp session/s, even if you are applying for a scholarship. If you cannot pay the deposit at that time, your registration will be saved as “pending” until payment is made. Please follow all directions within the registration application process for additional information and assistance.
Local Church Scholarships (not just UMC’s)
Camper Parent/Guardian seeking funds:
If you are part of, or connected to, a local church, you may request scholarship funds for your camper. Though the process may vary from church to church, we generally encourage you to contact your pastor or youth/family director and let them know you would like to sent your camper/s to a DSC Summer Camp and send them to this page to get more information!
Notes about completing registration: $50 deposit
If the scholarship you are seeking from a local church is going to cover all registration fees, including the deposit, please note you will not be able to submit your registration without a code waiving the deposit. You have two options:

- Fill out the camper registration application and save as “application pending” and then reach out to the Office Admin.
- Contact the Office Admin before beginning registration and provide them with the church name, contact person, and contact information.
The Office Admin will then reach out to the church to seek approval for funds. Once approved, you will receive a discount code to apply to the application and submit registration.

Scholarship opportunities below are separate from DSC and UMC’s and require separate applications or information to apply. We will continue to update as we have information on these opportunities.
The Children’s Service Guild Scholarship
The Children’s Service Guild provides Potosi Pines Summer Camp scholarships for children in foster care, covering all registration fees including the deposit.
Eligibility:

- Campers must currently be in the foster care system.
- Campers must fall into the age range of the session for which they want to participate.
- Clearly fill out the application and provide guardian and caseworker signature.
All camper applicants must apply and be approved prior to registering for a Potosi Pines Summer Camp session. If you try to register before approval, you will not be able to submit the registration without paying the $50 deposit.

The Las Vegas Sun Scholarship
The Las Vegas Sun usually provides additional support to families who have a financial need, covering costs based on information provided in the application. There is no standard amount; this could be the full registration fees, all but deposits, or just a portion. This application comes out pretty close to the start of the summer camp, so keep an eye on this space if you are hoping to apply.
